An Opportunity Newspaper Ad Image

The purpose of our newspaper advertisement is to invite you to carefully consider whether or not to enroll your children into a program of spiritual formation and character development at a church in your community.

Parents and guardians strive to provide the next generation with every available opportunity for growth and success. Children's schedules quickly get filled to overflowing with structured group activities and events. However, the need for education and training with respect to spirituality and morality are sometimes overlooked.

New students are especially welcome to join our Sunday School program at First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, which meets at 9:30 AM during the academic year.

http://www.kidconnectiononline.org/ explains the lesson plans for age 4 to grade 5. The "Year 1" Old Testament lesson list is being used for the 2011-2012 academic year. Through story telling, crafts, drama, music and more, children learn stories about God's people from God's Word. The virtues of Christ's character and making decisions consistent with His teachings are stressed.

Pulse is our Sunday morning program for students in 6th to 8th grades. Through activities and bible lessons, they'll learn how to apply God's word to the situations they face every day at school and at home. The first weeks will be devoted to "Followers of Jesus" and "Teens of the Bible". You'll hear the stories of Mary and Martha, Daniel, Josiah and the kid who shared his lunch to name a few. Please bring your bibles to each class!

High school students are also invited to meet with us on Sunday mornings to discuss God's Word and it's application to life through a variety of ways.

For Adults, the Scripture Press Bible in Life curriculum from David C. Cook publishers is on an eight year cycle to cover the entire bible. The 2010-2011 academic year lessons "Setting Boundaries for Living" use Bible texts from Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy as the basis for discussions.

Other Sunday activities during the academic year are 9:30 AM contemporary worship, 10:30 AM light refreshments and informal conversation, and 11:00 AM traditional worship.

We are at the corner of Church St. and Main Av. in Wynantskill.
